The Duckfeet Story
DUCKFEET FOR ALL GENERATIONS In the 70s and 80s, Danes had to have the foot-formed, yellow Duckfeet. Today, an expanded range, including traditional and contemporary styles, are again popular throughout Europe, and now in Australia. Duckfeet have also found their way to the catwalks of Scandinavian fashion designers who believe in the same ideas of quality, design, craft and sustainability.
Foot-formed comfort Duckfeet’s characteristic foot-formed design allows room for the toes, and air to reach the feet. The leather used for the midsoles and uppers gives the skin permission to breathe and naturally transports moisture away from the foot. Leather is strong and flexible, therefore it is the shoe that forms to the foot, rather than the foot to the shoe. The midsole in all models is made of 100% vegetable tanned leather. The outer sole’s crepe rubber is naturally shock-absorbent. This is comfortable for the feet and gentle for the whole body.
Production – from human hands to human feet Duckfeet are manufactured in the traditional way. The shoe is built up over a last, which demands great skill and arm strength to be able to make shoes from such a strong leather. The sole is stitched firmly to the shaft with a hand sewing machine. In this way, every pair of shoes or boots comes into contact with many experienced hands before they are put in the box.
A shoe with personality – no two pairs alike Every piece of leather and every pair of shoes are treated individually during production. This means that there are small differences in each pair. The natural tanning and processing by hand allows for subtle variations in the leather. That is how you get shoes with personality. No two pair of Duckfeet are exactly alike.
